Divisional Vice President of Global Clinical Affairs, Abbot
Jennifer Jones-McMeans, PhD, is the Divisional Vice President of Global Clinical Affairs at Abbott’s vascular business, based in Santa Clara, California. Since joining Abbott as a clinical research scientist nearly 16 years ago, Jennifer has worked on gaining approval of numerous vascular devices, in the US and around the globe. She has led many clinical trials, including those for resorbable technologies designed to treat cardiovascular disease and peripheral arterial disease, the latter of which disproportionately affects African American, Native American and Latino communities. Now, at Abbott, the leading global medical device company, Jennifer is invested in driving innovation and leveraging technology to create meaningful change in diversity in all clinical trials and has become one of the leading experts in clinical trial design strategy. Jennifer has spoken at several renowned industry conferences on the topic of diversity in clinical trials, including HIMSS, Diversity in Clinical Trials Summit, UCLA VITALS 2022, MedTech Color Collaborative Community Webinar and more. In addition, Jennifer has received the Silicon Valley Women of Influence Award for her work eliminating barriers to clinical trials.
