Gary Iott


Gary Iott is Director, External Vaccines Communications, within Pfizer’s Corporate Affairs team. He supports strategic brand communications development and execution for global portfolio assets in the Vaccines Business Unit. Previously, Gary was Senior Manager, External Communications, with public relations responsibility for launch and issues communications for Eliquis and Viagra. Prior to that, Gary was responsible for managing the development and execution of internal and external communication strategies and messages for Pfizer’s Established Products Business Unit (EPBU) – including reputation management, portfolio expansion, and product commercialization initiatives specific to Pfizer generics and hospital injectables. He joined the company in May 2006 as a Communications Specialist for Pfizer’s Research & Development Worldwide Pharmaceutical Sciences (WWPS) division.

Previous to Pfizer, Gary was Corporate Communications Supervisor for Campbell-Ewald, Warren, Mich. His responsibilities included planning and implementation for the organization’s employee communications, external media relations, special events and crisis communications. Prior to that he was Special Projects Manager for President & CEO of United Way Community Services, Detroit. During his career, Gary has also held roles with a number of elected officials, including Congressman Sandy Levin (MI), State Senator Lana Pollack (MI), and State Representative Mary Schroer (MI).

In 2001, he earned accreditation in public relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America. Gary graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree from Eastern Michigan University with double majors in public relations and political science.
