Lisa Joldersma is Senior Vice President for Public Programs, Insurance, and State Issues in the Policy and Research Department at PhRMA. She works on behalf of the nation’s leading research-based biopharmaceutical companies to sustain and improve access to medicines in government programs and the private insurance market.
Lisa has 20 years of health law and policy experience that spans both government and private industry. Immediately prior to joining PhRMA, Lisa worked for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association on Medicare and Medicaid policy issues. Before that she worked for many years as a senior advisor for legislative policy at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Her tenure spanned two Administrations, both Republican and Democrat, and placed Lisa at the center of two landmark pieces of legislation: the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.
Lisa is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and Hope College (Holland, MI). She resides in Washington, DC with her husband and four children.
